I feel there is always confusion in understanding the term "forward". To me it refers only to a direction. Not energy, size of stride or volume. It took me AGES to figure that out.
The point is that we never stop learning. I love horses and I love teaching. I left Aiken, South Carolina two years ago with no horses. I sold my beautiful paradise farm and bought a new place here in Wyarno, Wyoming which I have named Paradise West.
I have been hurt a lot and I KNEW first I was going to be SERIOUSLY HURT and I was.I knew this before I hit the ground. I knew lying there in the sand this was a big one. But I also knew I was going to be alright with some time.
Education of all sorts of horses and riders. Education of so many more things than just riding. Discipline, courtesy, sportsmanship, preparation, dedication, detail, knowledge and FUN!
Running events is very hard, even when one is in good shape. Pulling the event together this time was dome by the most amazing group of people. I am so grateful to have so many dear friends to stay over and paint and rake and do EVERYTHING!
My event starts tomorrow. It is raining and I have a broken neck and can't do a darn thing. As far as I am concerned we are ready. Everyone has done a great job. We were happy...
So the good news is I am on the mend. Fingers are much better though definitely want to stay undercover of gloves. Neck is great. No pain. Some stiffness. The collar keeps it from moving around.I am confident I shall have a good recovery.
Putting on a competition is a huge effort. The spring event here is a gas to put on as we know we have entries on an early date. When an event runs on a complete shoestring due to lack of entries it is a sad state of affairs where everyone knows there can be no improvements done or additions to the event. We keep going as we want to support the sport.
My heart sings with joy to see these people realize their own huge accomplishments. This is not about high powered eventing or high powered anything. I am just so happy to be able to offer an INCREDIBLY WONDERFUL facility for these people to learn about themselves and their wonderful horses.
I was very upset but again more with non riding issues than Peter and went home with my tail between my legs.So we have decided not to run the two star CCI as planned and step back a little till other things can settle down.I will never put the horses at risk and I need to get a few things sorted to ride better in the future. Always something!!!
It takes tremendous willpower not to equate ones self worth as a human being with how one ends up on the weekend.I am currently down to one eventer, Peter Pan.Ninety Nine percent of this darn game is confidence. I am currently standing on about 10% in my ability.
